Super Bowl XLIV - Feb 2010
On February 4th, 2010, at the world-renowned
Biltmore Golf Club and Resort in Coral Gables, Florida, over 25 Pro Football Hall of Fame Legends competed in the annual pre-Super Bowl 2010 Hall of Fame Players Classic.
When the 2010 Super Bowl was held in Miami in 2010 it was the 10th Championship game for the NFL in Miami, more than any other host city. Miami has an equally rich tradition of golf, and one of the premier courses in the area is the Biltmore Golf Club and Resort in Coral Gables, Florida. Adjacent to the majestic Biltmore Hotel is a 6,800-yard, 18-hole, par-71 championship golf course designed by the world-renowned golf course architect Donald Ross. Completed in 1925 and now meticulously restored, the exquisite golf course has challenged the likes of Walter Hagen, Tiger Woods, Babe Ruth and Gene Sarazen. Lushly landscaped and infinitely playable no matter what your skill level, this impeccable course never fails to please.
I have played in the HOF Players Classic for a few years and it is not only a great event but if you are a football fan and you know your history, then you realize that these are the men that make the game what it is today. That you are walking and talking to the history of your favorite sport. The really amazing part is that they are just regular people like you and me not the Prima Donna’s of today.
